Some people have boundless energy, a real ‘gift of the gab’ and the most golden of hearts. One such extraordinary person is Wayne Clarke, a survivor of child abuse himself, he is driven to make lasting change, to ensure that children are protected and kept safe from abuse, a far cry from the awful, systematic abuse inflicted upon him as a young boy.
Child Wise aims to prevent child abuse by equipping organisations with an understanding of how to identify and report abuse, thereby make their organisations safe for children. Our core values couldn’t be more aligned with Wayne’s and under his own steam, he runs a number of fundraising events for Child Wise.
Whether it’s 10’s, 100’s or 1000’s of dollars raised, his excitement and enthusiasm couldn’t be greater and we are so appreciative of his efforts. Wayne enjoys a tune and has included pub gigs on his roster of fundraising events.
He also has the international
track classic at Glenhuntly Athletic Club early December 2018 and more pub gigs coming up. Because Wayne’s story needs to be told, there’s also a book in the pipeline for which he is adamant that part proceeds from sales be directed to Child Wise.
Wayne, along with all survivors of child abuse, are our reason for being, they’re beacons allowing us to learn from the past and stop the incidence of abuse through a commitment to prevention.
Details of Wayne’s upcoming events will be published on our website and social platforms, so do go along for a great time and support Child Wise in the process.
From everyone at Child Wise, thank you so much
Wayne! We look forward to continuing to work together.
