Interim Executive Director
In her 26 years as a social worker, Kate has specialised in the area of childhood, young people and safeguarding systems. Kate has undertaken leadership roles with governments, NGO’s and academic institutions both internationally and domestically. Strengthening organisational safeguarding has taken Kate to locations as diverse as Samoa, Canberra, Pakistan and Kununurra. Her broader career has allowed her to explore safeguarding gaps and opportunities in Church, Sport, Education and International Development organisations.
In her usual role as Head of Child Safeguarding at Save the Children Australia, Kate is responsible for strengthening child safe practices across Australian and international programs. She will be leading the Child Wise team in the interim.
Director of Quality Assurance
Michael is a social worker, counsellor and educator with extensive clinical and leadership experience in child protection, mental health, family violence, offender management and trauma-informed therapy. He has worked for Child Wise since 2016, supporting numerous organisations to build child safety capacity. He also represented Child Wise as a sector expert at the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse and authored a submission to the Commission in relation to child-focused complaints processes.
Prior to joining Child Wise, Michael spent 16 years working in the field of statutory child protection in the UK and Canada as a practitioner, manager and senior leader. He continues to work as a counsellor, and periodically lectures in field interpersonal psychotherapy. Trained in systemic leadership, Michael is passionate about supporting child-focused organisations to foster learning-oriented approaches which create sustainable change.
As Director of Quality Assurance, Michael supports Child Wise Advisors, Trainers and Managers to deliver consistently excellent services.
Director of Operations
Harriet brings years of experience in senior management and a deep understanding of business strategy and compliance across a diverse number of industries in Australia and New Zealand.
Harriet brings over 15 years’ experience in Education, Training & Operations, including Manager Curriculum & Training Services at the Australian Institute of Management, as well as over 20 years of experience in corporate environments. As School Board Chair for an elected three-year term at Aranda Primary School and Walking School Bus team leader, child protection and safety were always paramount, resulting in Volunteer of Year Nomination (ACT) in 2009.
National Marketing and Business Development Manager
Paola is an energetic and versatile marketing manager with a love for digital, content and social strategies. Before joining Child Wise as their National Marketing and Business Development Manager, Paola has worked for over 10 years in Europe, UK and Africa for corporate organisations across several industries: technology, consumer goods & entertainment, retail, telco, publishing, digital media.
She now brings her enthusiasm and expertise in integrated marketing campaigns, digital advertising, social media and content strategy to Child Wise, and she is very passionate about making a difference within the social enterprise space.

State Manager, Western Australia
Selina is an experienced child protection policy and legislation professional who has worked extensively in the government and not-for-profit sectors. She is passionate about child protection and changing our culture to one where the rights and safety of children are embedded in our behavioural choices.
Selina has run a successful consultancy business helping to build child safeguarding understanding and capacity in the community, and joins Child Wise as WA Manager.
State Manager, South Australia
An experienced leader and manager in the Australian and international not-for-profit sector, Donna combines her expertise in tight portfolio, program and project management together with a passion for community-led design and monitoring. Donna has a background in training, coaching and development for staff, leaders and boards of small to medium sized organisations that deliver community based programming.
She is a passionate believer that community feedback is a critical component of a strong evidence base and has recently worked with Save the Children to promote and advocate for the rights of children to have an active voice in the programs and services that impact them.
State Manager, Queensland
A self-motivated and customer-focused senior people and business manager, Angela has shaped and led high-performing teams and projects in not-for-profit organisations for over 18 years. Angela has held senior positions in primary mental health care, the safety and wellbeing of children and young people, and employment services.
Angela has provided management and oversight of numerous local, state and national programs and projects, giving guidance, support and mentoring to senior staff and managers, securing better outcomes for children, families and communities.
State Manager, Northern Territory
Delia brings vast experience in developing policy, creating education and awareness campaigns. She has led Territory-wide initiatives and reforms designed to deliver improved and sustainable outcomes to vulnerable community members.
Delia has extremely strong networks across the Northern Territory and Australian Governments, as well as long-standing working relationships with key Aboriginal territory and national organisations.
State Manager, Victoria
Trish is a dynamic, reflective and proactive senior manager with over 20 years’ experience in the Family and Community Services sector (Family Violence; Functional Family Therapy; Project Management; Quality Management; Financial Counselling; Integrated Family Services; Community Development).
Trish has a rich and diverse background of training and experience ensuring a measured, flexible and creative approach to problem-solving, program development, staff issues and strategic planning.
