How Child Wise can support your organisation to keep children safe in the current COVID-19 climate

At Child Wise, our reason for being is keeping our communities safe. In these difficult times our thoughts go out to anyone who has been directly impacted by the spread of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus).

In this blog post we would like to share our focus for the coming months and how we can help organisations and communities keep children safe in a period of heightened risk and vulnerability. This includes recognising and respecting children’s agency as competent and capable citizens and engaging with children to create spaces at home or online where they can play, learn and grow.

In addition to our consulting services we would like to offer three new products which are available remotely:

ONLINE CHILD SAFETY TRAINING SESSIONS

We can now provide online or virtual child safeguarding training sessions delivered directly to your staff and communities across Australia.

Our team of child safety experts has created new online courses which offer higher levels of participation and real-life experience for your organisation, wherever you are, from the comfort of your home.

CONDUCT A SYSTEM ANALYSIS

Child Wise can now analyse your organisation’s end to end response to select child safety incidents to identify gaps and areas for improvement.

CHILD SAFEGUARDING JOURNEY MAPPING

Child Safeguarding Journey Mapping means that our team of advisors can explore the touch points, the ways children interact with your organisation, as well identify any gaps and areas for improvement.

This is how Child Safeguarding Journey Mapping can benefit your organisation:

  • The map puts the child front and centre in your organisation’s thinking.
  • It helps to focus on the child’s experience and moves staff away from organisational thinking.
  • Identifies what the touch points are and how the child interacts with your organisation and its members.
  • Identifies the opportunities and gaps where the child’s experience is disjointed, unpleasant or even harmful.

NOW IS THE TIME TO ENSURE YOUR ORGANISATION IS CHILD SAFE

Now is the time to ensure your organisation is child safe and to identify areas of improvement before business returns to normal.
